Visitors from many western, Asian along with most ASEAN countries, Canada, Australia most European Union countries, Japan, Hong Kong, United States and Russia do not need a visa to get in to Thailand, if their purpose of visit is tourism. Visitors obtain a 30 day permit if they arrive by air and 15 day permit if they arrive by land.

There are many travel means to Thailand. Bangkok is one of the largest hubs in Asia. It has the busiest airport in South East Asia. Almost every airline that flies to Asia, flies to Bangkok too. You can also reach Thailand by train. The International Train route from Thailand extends all the way till Singapore via Malaysia. When in extremely busy times, ferry service is also available to get to Thailand. Other transport means such as bus are also available but they are more time consuming and is more costly.
